60-second check: is anything hijacking your Python startup?
The LiteLLM attack hid in .pth files, which Python executes automatically at startup when a line begins with 'import'. Run: python -c "import site; print(site.getsitepackages())" and then look in those folders for .pth files containing 'import' lines you don't recognise. Do it for every virtualenv and container you use for AI work.
Opening a stranger's repo with a coding agent? Sandbox it first
Researchers showed that git settings and agent config files inside a repo can make Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and others run commands the moment the agent touches git — before you approve anything. For unfamiliar repos, run the agent in a throwaway container or VM, and read .git/config and any agent settings folders before letting it loose.
